Here's the new plan. We make Halloween start Sept 1st, and run that till Oct 31. Then, we have a day of rest. On Nov 2, Christmas goes up in full swing! We get Christmas Heavy for 2 full months, and it is now deemed commercial so it'll be non-denominational (toying with new names didn't work, like Fredmas, and Mollymas, although I haven't ruled out Chrismas, which has the added advantage of gender neutrality).
I know what your thinking, but I'm moving Thanksgiving to May. I mean, really, it's just getting in the way, and we could use it in May. Easter we will pull up to late February, and again, adding a non-denominational component to that (Eater day?) now sponsored by Ghirardelli.
And we are moving New Years three weeks in to middle January. To compensate, we're adding December 32 through December 44. February is shortened to 15 days, since we are already use to that. Valentines day is now August 1st. Because, seriously, that should be in the summer, and August has a dooms day feel to it with school right around the corner.
OH, and I'm making the Oscars a holiday now. It's back to a Monday, and you get the day off. Only difference, banks are open. So you can get coinage for betting on the winners.
That is all.
